The conference will include an exciting program of talks and posters on a wide range of bat-related topics, presented by researchers, conservationists and other bat enthusiasts from across the Australasian region. The formal conference program, coupled with an invigorating mix of social events, field sessions, and informal discussions, will captivate and inform conference delegates over the three-day conference and the associated pre-conference field trip and welcoming function. The Australasian Bat Society, Inc. Annual General Meeting will be held during the conference.

We have been monitoring the Covid19 situation closely and believe it is feasible to hold the conference in person, adhering to all government guidelines applicable at the time to keep members as safe as possible. We encourage as many members as possible to join in person so that we can have our usual vibrant conference gathering. However we recognise that this will not suit all members and so we have now also opened the option for online participation. As a result we have now extended the registration date until 18 March 2022. Online registrants have the option of submitting a spoken paper (both full presentation and speed talk) – to reduce technology issues we ask that these are pre-recorded. So please consider joining us and presenting your work either in person or online.

Due to Queensland University holidays, we are holding the conference the week before Easter (rather than traditionally after Easter). For this reason, the conference field trip will be held before the conference. We encourage you (and your families) to enjoy your Easter break in sunny Queensland after the conference.
