ABS Position on flying-fox dispersal The ABS does not generally support dispersal attempts as they are rarely successful in resolving conflict and the impacts on the animals are unknown.

ABS Position on wind farms The ABS supports the transition to renewable energy to mitigate the impacts of climate change, including wind energy. However, across Australasia the number of bats killed by windfarms is unacceptably high and expected to increase further as more wind farms are developed. Hence, we strongly believe that steps must be taken to reduce these adverse impacts on bats.
